Leadership Week 5.4 Reflection of the learning leadership at its best

Q Instructions Module Five reinforced the value of a leader-follower relationship by exploring Transformational Leadership theory. Leaders are change agents, however, successful change begins with a leader looking within and understanding how behaviors, actions, and style can either have a positive or negative impact on followers. As you reflect on Module Five, the readings, videos, and discussion, respond to the following questions: What is one take-away from readings, discussions, assignments, and videos? Take the Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire (MLQ) Form 5X-Short in Northouse (2016) on page 189 to measure self- perception on your leadership style. What leadership style do you exhibit more often? How does your current leadership style impact followers, coworkers, and your performance? Describe a time when you felt like a leader (situation, your behavior, and the outcome). Does your behavior align with one or more of the leadership qualities outlined by Barry Posner in this week’s video? The one thing that I will take from module 5 of this course is about the importance of leader being transformational than transactional. I myself mostly have been a kind of person who likes to build a relationship with people and value them. In such a case, I quickly got attracted to the theory of transformational leader while leading a team builds a good relationship with followers and thus transform him in the whole journey for better.
